Vizor Cap Ukrainian Insurgent Army

Mazepynka - a headdress of Ukrainian soldiers belonging to the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen and the Ukrainian Galician Army, later the Carpathian Sich and the UPA, since 2015 - an element of the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A characteristic feature is a wedge-shaped cut in the front. This feature appeared on the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the Sarmatian era, and like other elements of clothing, was probably borrowed from Eastern peoples. In particular, it can be found on traditional Central Asian caps and the famous engraving "Russian Embassy to the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II in Regensburg" 1576. In the middle of the 17th century. was recorded on the famous Boplan map, and was characteristic of Cossack-noble headdresses of the second half of the 17th century.
