📏 How to Take Body Measurements for Custom Tailoring

⚠️ General Guidelines

  • Take measurements while wearing light or fitted clothing, or underwear only
  • Keep the measuring tape horizontal and snug, but not tight
  • Stand naturally in a relaxed, upright position
  • It is recommended that measurements are taken by another person for accuracy

🔹 Upper Body Measurements

1. Neck Circumference

Measure around the base of the neck where a shirt collar would sit. Do not tighten the tape.

2. Chest Circumference

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, passing under the armpits and across the shoulder blades.

3. Waist Circumference

Measure around the narrowest part of the torso, usually above the navel. Do not hold your breath or втягувати abdomen.

4. Hip Circumference

Measure around the widest part of the hips and buttocks, keeping the tape level.

5. Back Width

Measure across the back from one armpit to the other, passing over the shoulder blades.

6. Back Length to Waist

Measure from the base of the neck (seventh cervical vertebra) down to the waistline.

7. Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder point, over a slightly bent elbow, down to the wrist.

8. Shoulder Length

Measure from the base of the neck to the outer edge of the shoulder.

🔹 Lower Body Measurements

9. Inseam Length

Measure from the crotch down to the desired trouser length or floor.

10. Outseam (Trouser Length)

Measure from the waistline down to the bottom of the trousers.

🔹 Additional Measurements

11. Head Circumference

Measure around the widest part of the head for hats or caps.

12. Height

Measure barefoot from the floor to the top of the head while standing straight against a wall.

📌 Important Notes

  • Always take measurements at least twice for accuracy
  • Do not pull the tape too tight or leave it too loose
  • Keep the body relaxed and breathing normally
